As the government department responsible for maintaining the Land Register for England and Wales, its mission is to provide the world's best service for guaranteeing ownership of land and facilitating property transactions. Good property asset management starts with land registration and given the scale and active nature of the property market in England and Wales (approximately £1million worth of property being processed every minute) a standard would seem essential.
